Meet an Indie Agency: Apostrophe

Ryan O’Hare has an apostrophe in his last name.
It’s caused banking errors. It nearly kept his brother from graduating on time. It’s the kind of small thing that creates big problems when systems don’t account for it.
So when he started his own agency — a design, animation and video production shop in Louisville — he named it Apostrophe. Because the whole point is fitting seamlessly into a brand’s ecosystem without creating friction.
One year in, his team spans the U.S. and Colombia. They work across entertainment, sports and tech. Clients include Peacock, Duolingo, AMC Networks and the Louisville Orchestra.
The pitch is simple: “If you work with an indie agency, especially us, you are working with the core team at all times. There’s no huge layers of approvals. There’s no incredible creative getting killed before the client actually sees it.”
No layers. No bureaucracy. Just the people doing the work, on every project.
