The Super Duper Show: It’s a Tide Ad

Maddy Kramer was at Saatchi when one of the most awarded and complex Super Bowl campaigns ever made came together. The brief was one line: “Make it better than last year.” What followed was multiple spots, multiple genre parodies, David Harbour, and a premise that hijacked every other ad in the game.

The team spent months spinning before someone noticed a stat buried at the bottom of the brief: 85% household penetration. If everyone has Tide, then every ad is a Tide ad. They sold it the week before Thanksgiving. Shot it in the second week of January. Had no idea which ads would run before or after theirs.
