Liar, Liar? The Prins/Carlson Episode

Two women, labeled Prins Carlson, appear in a split-screen video call with the indie agency news fun + games logo in the top right corner, reminiscent of a “Liar Liar” moment.
Did Christine stump Rachel?

Life, and especially business, is kinda like a mullet…right? Monday through Thursday, we like a little business up front. And then on Friday, there’s a party in the back.

At IAN, we started Fun + Games Friday as a chance to just cut loose a little bit, provide a little creative oxygen, and just remind ourselves that this industry can be a lot of fun!

This past Friday was our first episode of Liar, Liar?, during which our contestant made a statement, and our judge had to guess whether it was the truth or a lie after asking a series of questions before the contestant makes the big reveal. If the judge guesses incorrectly, the contestant scores points. And if they guess correctly, the contestant still has a chance to win points for style based on their storytelling prowess.

Our guinea pigs for this inaugural episode are contestant and chief marketing officer of 22Squared, Christine Prins, who attempted to stump guest judge and co-founder of Foul Mouth Creative, Rachel Carlson, over the course of three rounds.

Which story is true and which is a lie:

  • Round 1: The Craigslist Career Kickstarter?
  • Round 2: The Junior Olympics Polo Player?
  • Round 3: The Vegas Client Pitch Conundrum

Did Christine stump Rachel, or did Rachel’s pre-show “pep talk” with a family member who’s trained in interrogations give her the necessary edge to deduce what’s fact and what’s fiction?

The answers are shocking, fascinating and thoroughly entertaining. (Some may even need their own dedicated episode to unravel).

One truth we can share about this episode: The industry is lucky to have both of these storytellers in it.
