Pirates mid-duel. Athletes chasing glory. Just as they’re about to claim their gold, King Tut shows up with investment advice and a real Egyptian khopesh sword.
That’s “Free Gold Never Happens,” the new campaign from precious metals app Vaulted and Nashville indie Fire Kite. The work promotes VaultPlan, which actually delivers free gold to investors who commit $50 monthly for six months—making the impossible possible.
“The campaign leans into the universal truth that ‘free gold’ never happens, until a brand like Vaulted comes along,” says Alex Goulart, Fire Kite founder and ECD. “King Tut continues to be the perfect spokesman to tout gold’s enduring value and provide some comic relief.”
Connor Carroll directed through Cumberland Creative, with Chris Guerra playing Tut (and every other character) in a surprisingly lightweight styrofoam costume designed by Mike Mulligan. NYC’s Singing Serpent handled the epic audio.
The campaign builds on Fire Kite’s “Because Gold” launch work, which won Best in Show at this year’s AAF awards. Not bad for proving you don’t need to be a pharaoh to strike advertising gold.
