Awards don’t make or break an agency, but winning a prestigious award can certainly up the profile of an agency and possibly lead to more work and more accolades.
Adweek’s Agency of the Year is a coveted award, and we’re happy to say that three Indie Agency members took home Adweek’s top award — Mischief @ No Fixed Address, Special US, and Rethink.
Mischief @ No Fixed Address has been one of the top agencies since it was founded five years ago, and it has also topped Adweek’s annual awards each year, in different categories. This year, the Brooklyn-based shop was named U.S. Agency of the Year for the second time.
Contributing to its win, Mischief grew revenue 48% year-over-year and added 12 new clients, including Hotels.com, Verizon, JCPenney, and Kraft Heinz brands Capri-Sun and Lunchables. It also launched Mischief Media. Read the whole story here.
Special US broke through this year, literally, being named Breakthrough Agency of the Year. The agency is one of the biggest players in the Super Bowl, thanks to its award-winning Uber Eats ads. Its “Brian Cox Goes to College” for Uber also earned an Emmy.
For the New Zealand-founded company, this is a big win, and its wins also include Bumble (AOR), Target, Meta, and Planet Fitness. Read the whole story here.
Rethink has been making waves for a quarter of a century, but the Toronto-headquartered shop keeps things fresh, which is why Adweek named it the Independent Agency of the Year.
Rethink’s revenue is up 10% year-over-year and 50% in the U.S., thanks to winning business including Ferrara Candy, SmartLess Mobile, and Kayak. It also launched Rethink PR to round out its offerings. Read the whole story here.
Indie Agency News also wants to congratulate the other indie agency winners, including Wieden+Kennedy, Mirimar, Known, and Billion Dollar Boy. Find all the winners here.
